WHY LTM
EMPOWERING OUR YOUTH
YOUTH ADVOCACY
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER
In addition to our core values, LTM outlines other principles that define our approach to youth development and community-based programming. These principles inform everything we do.
♪ Inspire young adults with stories of perseverance and self-discipline

♪ Motivate youth, teens young adults to seek personal growth, to learn from failure, and detest mediocrity within themselves or their sphere of influence.

♪ Build camaraderie with an arduous and physical team- building session that features the same style of shared suffering taught to our law enforcement and military veterans in their boot camps and police academies

♪ LTM engages young people through community- based education, mentoring, employment readiness, and enrichment programming to help them develop skills and strengthen ties to family and community.
LTM participants will be paired with an adult youth advocate and mentor who are trained to provide supportive services, assistance with basic needs, and individualized goal setting. Youth advocates also act as liaisons with family members, teachers, and other adults in a young person's life.
Many of our city's young people struggle to overcome a historical underinvestment in public education, limited access to living wage jobs, and an epidemic of mass incarceration. LTM is committed to addressing these persistent inequities by connecting young people to the opportunities, relationships, and resources they need to thrive and achieve their potential.
LTM is founded on the principle of caring for one another. The strength of our work is grounded in our ability to build strong relationships with young people and their families. We prioritize one-on-one relationships and individualized supportive services across all of our programs. Together, we can empower young people to improve their lives and the lives of others.
OUR COMMITMENT TO ALL YOUTH

“Almost all children respond to music. Music is an open-sesame, and if you can use it carefully and appropriately, you can reach into that child’s potential for development.”
