ABOUT

Today’s youth face a nationwide crisis when it comes to their educational, emotional, and social needs being met, but more important than that is how those needs are met...

 

As a result, these young people face a variety of challenges, including:

 

♪    Permanently depressed future earnings

♪    Anxiety brought upon by Covid, peer pressure, or other negatives, threatening life        experiences

♪    Becoming pessimistic about their future or existence and purpose in life

♪    Loss of motivation to do activities they normally enjoy

♪    Entrapment in perpetual cycles of poverty and or depression

♪    Increased participation in, or risk of becoming victimized by crime

♪    Poor mental and physical health

♪    Emotional, and Mental Well-being

♪    Stress

♪    A feeling of sadness or hopelessness

♪    Withdrawal from friends and family

♪    Lack of enthusiasm or motivation

♪    Suicidal thoughts and tendencies

 

Life, Through Music, is doing its part to address these sobering statistics by helping youth turn their passion for music into professions, both on-stage and behind the scenes.  Our programs help youth who have a passion for music develop skills to secure employment in the music, as well as other areas of interest they wish to pursue and related fields, leading them to promising futures.

 

The purposes of LTM will be to provide activities and services virtual and in-person to aid our teens and youth by offering classes, support, and programs to help with the following social, emotional, and academic learning:

 

♪    To support, teach and reach youth with some form/type of Trauma (CTS, Complex,         Developmental, or Toxic Stress)

♪    To provide youth with positive learning experiences

♪    Provide and Building Empathy

♪    To provide support to our youth with a suicidal intention

♪    To provide mentoring to develop life, social and emotional support

♪    To help our students develop study skills and habits for success

♪    To provide academic support (IEP/504 plans), enrichment activities, character                development, skill-building, and performance opportunities

♪    To build outstanding citizens and prepare them to be tomorrow’s leaders

♪    To afford members exceptional opportunities to learn and create lifelong                        memories

♪    To develop strong, well rounded, healthy, confident, and capable young people              and adults

♪    To foster cultural exploration in the form of music, travel, and cultural exchange

♪    To introduce the college experience and create transitional opportunities

♪    To talk less and listen more in conversations, encouraging adolescents to express          themselves

♪    To provide and promote the healthy social, cultural, and academic development            of at-risk youth through education in music and mentoring for life. 

♪    To provide opportunities for students to excel in music studies outside of their              regular school timetable

♪    To learn, build and develop social skills

♪    Provide support for youth affected emotionally by Covid-19

♪    Be honest and don’t shield children from the information. Acknowledge that you          may be scared, too, but can get through the difficult times together

♪    To teach and develop Self-Awareness

♪    To teach and develop Self-Management

♪    To teach and develop Social-Awareness

♪    To teach and develop Relationship Skills

♪    To teach and develop Goal-Directed Behavior 

♪    To teach and develop Personal Responsibility

♪    To teach and develop Decision-Making

♪    To teach and develop Optimistic Thinking

♪    To teach and develop Responsible decision making
